The hum balance pot, line out jack and distortion switch were introduced in 1977.

Other notable features included an ultralinear output transformer, scripted tailless amp decal and an orange sparkle grill cloth.

The Quad Reverb was discontinued in 1979.

I have one of these amps since it was made in 74. In addition this amp has a pot accessible from the bottom of the amp chassis which biases the 6L6s. In good condition this amp will belt it out with the best. But, it’s big draw back is the same with all stacks & half stacks. 89 LBS sucks for hauling it about.

There is one listed on reverb, ebay, and CL in Birmingham, Alabama that appears in good shape, yet pricy.

The Fender Quad Reverb was Albert Collins’s main LIVE amp. Awesome tone!

Hi, I have a 1976 quad reverb. I love it’s clean, and it’s a great pedal platform, but have never been Happy with the overdrive. would it be hard/worth it/ costly to convert the rectifier to a tube??

I have a 79 SF Super Reverb with Master Volume, ultralinear 70 watt, I just purchased from the original owner in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. I noticed a picture of this amp is not listed on this site, but this is most similar amp in the Super line up pictures listed above. They were made from 78 to to 82. 82 was the last year for the Super Reverb, untill the reissues came out much later. The amp was not working, blowing fuses. Master Volume was damaged and after doing some research on You Tube and other gear chat sites. Replaced the damaged MV with a 1 meg joint taper pot and put in in the circuit post inverter stage as suggested by Trainwreck Books. Removed the push pull boost circuit, which most players felt was useless and did not sound good. Replaced power cord and bypassed Ground switch, put in new power supply caps and inverter caps, and bias cap. I will post results later.
