Comments:
USB accessible for programming and recording via Fender FUSE™ editor/librarian software.
Also available, initially, as a factory special run with rough blonde Tolex and oxblood grill cloth. Black or blonde, IMHO the most bang for the buck in any amp Fender has ever made.
One correction to this listing–the bias is not fixed, it IS adjustable.
“Fixed” bias is a type of circuit for biasing. You can change the value of the resistor that controls the amount of bias: the circuit is still fixed bias. You can adjust the potentiometer that controls the amount of bias: the circuit is still fixed bias.
The 12AX7 is not a preamp tube, no matter what Fender says in their literature. The preamp is 100% solid state for both channels. The 12AX7 functions as a driver and phase inverter to drive the power tubes.
Is there a way to add an effects loop to this amp. Seems to be the only thing missing on it
It’s been done If you search the Web you’ll find instructions. It’s tricky to do, given the printed circuit board construction of the amp.
None
Is the X2 essentially the same circuit as the earlier XD model? I know the X2 has a USB port, which the XD does not have. But, other than that, are they the same?
They are identical other than the USB interface. The default XD voice settings are different from the default X2 voice settings, but you can make them identical with Fender’s Fuse software.
